Over the 20 year history of Emerald Theater Company a voice to the LGBTQ community was finally heard. In the beginning many of the productions were written by founder Den-Nickolas Smith. The local theater community applauded his "August Trilogy" that focused on a group of men living in and among the leather lifestyle. Smith also wrote Disguise, Survival and Romeo-Romeo among many others. More notable playwrights such as Harvey Fierstein, Paul Rudnick, Del Shores, Edward Albee and Charles Busch's works have found a home with ETC.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Sordid Lives, Psycho Beach Party, Jeffrey, The Boys In The Band and The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me are among the most memorable and applauded productions staged at THEATREWORKS.
